The Baltimore City Historical Society will award its 2026 History Honors
at a public ceremony in October.

The nominees are people who expanded Baltimorean historical knowledge, led improvements to civic life, or left enriching legacies. The ceremony serves as a moving testimony to the contributions human agency made and continues to make to our city’s identity, culture and expression.

The award categories include:

HISTORIAN/SCHOLAR HONORS
For persons who have published recent works focused on Baltimore History and are respected in the academic and professional community

LIVING HISTORY HONORS
To persons who exemplify the civic value of community involvement and enhancement

IN MEMORIAM
To deceased persons who deserve recognition for their special contributions to Baltimore history.
