Author of Bluegrass in Baltimore: The Hard Drivin' Sound and Its Legacy
World War II and post-war industrial expansion brought Appalachian migrants to Baltimore, including extraordinary mountain musicians who made Baltimore the center of the bluegrass world. Many struggled with prejudice against their origins and disdain for their music.
